Tips for Applying Eye Liner
There is no better way to achieve beautiful looking eyes than with the use of a good quality eye liner. It doesn’t matter what you use, whether its liquid or gel or felt tip or pencil, but eye liner is a must. So much is eye liner necessary that your basic makeup is simply not complete without it.
But applying eye liner properly can be a bit of a chore. It is necessary for the line to be as straight and smooth as possible, and unless you have extraordinarily steady hands it is likely that you will end up making a bit of a mess. That’s why have compiled the following tips to make your life easier.
Prepping: using an eyelid primer is a good way to make your eye makeup last longer. In addition, apply any eye shadow you want to first, before applying the eyeliner.
Steady your hand: you simply cannot expect your hand to be as steady as required without actually steadying it. Put your elbow on a table and rest your pinky and your hand on your face before applying.
Use a small mirror: instead of squinting from a single eye at the distant dressing table mirror, use a smaller one held up in the other hand close to your face so you can see what you’re doing clearly.
Use small dots: instead of trying to make a whole line and risking it going wonky, especially if you’re using liquid liner, make small dots along the eye line and then join them up with small strokes.
Use a small piece of tape: add a small piece of tape at the corner of your eye to allow for a perfect wing without any effort!
